Effective movement therapy for children with special needs
The pediatric model from RECK medical devices is the only motorized movement therapy device that fulfills the special needs of children. The MOTOmed has a narrow pedal distance of 12 cm enabling children and small adults to train in a physiological joint position. This may avoid an unnatural straining of hip and knee joints. The height adjustable foot shells can be adapted to the length of the legs for an ideal sitting position. The MOTOmed gracile12 grows along with your child.
The MOTOmed gracile12 is equipped with several safety features, such as SpasmControl and MovementProtector. This way, a safe daily movement therapy becomes possible even with physical limitations.
Besides the leg trainer, the MOTOmed gracile12 is available as a combination device for leg and arm-/upper body training. The MOTOmed arm-/upper body trainer can be swiveled in and swiveled out of the training area. The arm-/upper body training specifically strengthens the arm-, upper body-, shoulder and the auxiliary respiratory musculature.
MOTOmax - more fun during training
During active training, children can make the game character MOTOmax jump and collect points. If either legs or arms are engaged equally, the MOTOmax ''jumps for joy'' and rewards children with a smile.

Users navigate intuitively the colour display (display diagonal 5,7 inch) at the MOTOmed, because each next possible operating step is lightened in “green”. Tactile (small increased), large keys make the operation more easily. The large representation of the training information ensures a well legibility.
The insertion aid function facilitates the insertion of the feet into the foot shells before the start of the training. Using a button on the operating panel, the user can move the foot shells continuously into the appropriate position.
If muscle cramp, spasticity or movement blockage (freezing) occurs during training, this function stops the pedal movement. It does not matter how the basic muscle tension changes; the MovementProtector does not remain constant, but automatically adapts to any change. As a result, it always remains optimally sensitive. This function is implemented in all MOTOmed models through a sensitive sensor system.
This function works closely with MovementProtector and can loosen and release detected spasms or cramps. The basis for the development of such a function is the following therapeutic principle: bending spasm is loosened by stretching and stretching spasm by bending. The automatic change of direction of rotation through the SpasmControl program can loosen the cramps detected by the movement protection. If a spasm occurs, the motor gently stops the crank movement. Legs and arms are relieved and the direction of rotation is switched following a brief resting period. This process is repeated until the spasm is relieved.

On the MOTOmed muvi as well as the MOTOmed loop edition and MOTOmed layson edition models, this function is displayed with an animated figure. Based on this graphic display, the users can target their "weaker" side of the body during training. SymmetryTraining prevents overloading of the healthy extremities.

How Will My Order Ship
Oversized Item: Shipping into your garage or to a flat pallet jack accessible area. Most RECK MOTOmed products ship on a pallet and are 95% assembled at the factory and have wheels for easy transport. All of the tools needed for assembly are included.
Please note that the freight company cannot enter your residence. If you live in an apartment building, the freight company will bring your shipment into the main entrance in most cases.
How long will it take to get my orders?
Shipping days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Once shipped your transit time is 3-14 days leaving from Washington State. You will be contacted by the freight company to schedule the delivery appointment prior to the actual delivery day.
